10. “How to attach new straps”
The buckle end of the straps should come up from the bottom of the trunk just above the bottom runners about center of each side and travel up 2/3 of the trunk. If you already have keepers run the strap threw them. Two nails should be placed at the bottom and 2 or 1 nail just below the buckle about an inch, or you can just use the keepers just below the buckle about an inch
Then for the back side place the strap in the secured buckle about the third hole and pull it threw the keepers if you have them to the back of the trunk and just where the strap meets the slat cut it off. Then attach it with two or more nails. Once the strap is secured add the keepers if they are missing, it usually takes 8, 4 on the top and 4 on the front... rarely is there 4 on the back but I have seen it done
