Trunk Restoration Pricing
At Treasured Trunks Restoration we strive to keep the costs of restoration/refinishing low.
The Base cost of Restoration of an Antique trunk:
All restoration work can include (as it applies to your trunk) but is not limited to:
Complete Disassembly Removing hardware for restoration
Removing rust, cleaning, & deodorizing
Restoring original hardware, replacement of existing leather items.
Re-nailing trunk all over, closing any gaps and splits.
Buffing/clear coat or painting of tin and canvas outside covering.
Installation of new parts as needed
Limited repair as needed to hardware, bottom and sides
Complete re-installation of original hardware.
Complete re-lining of inside in paper, with Victorian Artwork and corner tapes included
Final Touch up and Clear Coating the entire outside of the trunk.

$650.00 - Large 34” + length Large Trunk or Wardrobe Trunk
*Above prices do not include parts that need replacement such as flat or embossed tin replacement, leather parts, wood slats, locks, drawbolts, hinges, rollers, lid stays, etc.
Complete rebuilding of the base trunk box is at extra cost. Re-lining of the interior and trays in plain paper is included in base cost. The items below can be added to the trunk restoration upon your request.

Cedar lining
If you are not good at woodworking and don't mind the added weight of cedar try lining the trunk with cedar paneling, we could do the lining for you.

Canvas Replacement
Patching of canvas covering is included in the base cost. This fee covers the replacement of all canvas on a canvas-covered trunk.

Shipping
Shipping of the trunk owner’s responsibility. We will advise you on the least costly shipping methods. Most trunks can be shipped anywhere within the U.S.A. for $50 to 180.00 Turnaround time for a full trunk restoration is approx. 18 to 24 months depending on our workload when we begin work. Prices and delivery time are subject to change without notice.
Down payments
If we are selling and/or restoring a trunk from our stock we require 50% of the total upfront and the balance after the restoration is finished before shipping. If we are restoring your personal trunk, we require 50% payment upfront and 50% after the restoration is finished, before shipping. We will allow a customer to stay in our work schedule for 14 days before a down payment is required. At that time a 50% payment must be made to stay in the schedule. Refunds Down payment refund requests after 30 days from the date originally paid will be honored for only 50% of the down payment amount. Treasured Trunks will accept your personal check, Paypal, Visa, Mastercard, Amex, or Discovery credit cards.
Delivery of restored trunks
After any restoration shipped to us or dropped off, is completed, we will contact the customer via telephone or email using contact information given at the time we received the trunk. This contact attempt is made for settling the account and arranging for shipment back to the customer. If we fail to make contact we will attempt to reach the customer a second time. After the second failed attempt to contact the customer for having the account settled, the restored trunk is subject to public sale or disposition at our discretion without further notice.
